What is Considered a Major Repair?
We classify major home repairs as a complete home makeover that can include everything from moving walls and adding new flooring to re-plumbing the house. It’s an excellent investment in your future because it can increase the value of your home by hundreds of thousands of dollars. A complete remodel will allow you to modernize your space and add new features that make it more functional for your needs. For example, suppose you have an outdated kitchen with a small island but too many cabinets. In that case, you can have us reconfigure the kitchen to allow for more suitable countertops for preparing meals. Or suppose there’s very little storage space in your bathroom and closet areas. We can work with you to either build new closets that fit better within their allotted spaces or find new space by re-configuring home segments where there might be wasted space. If you need minor repairs done, we recommend you contact a handyman.
Removing walls and floors, ceilings, plumbing, electrical, drywall, and insulation is not for the faint of heart. Do you want to change your home into a dream home but aren’t ready to try and tackle that type of project on your own? If so, then our team is here for you! We are experts in major home repairs and can help you with all of your repair needs, including reconstruction & restoration after disasters.

Which Home Renovations Give The Best Return On Investment?
Looking to get the most bang for the buck when it comes to improving your home? Each year, Remodeling magazine releases an updated list of what home renovations get you the best return on investment, based on their analysis of project costs and the value the projects retain at resale. Yet again in Remodeling’s most recent report, exterior house renovations are coming back with the best cost/value return on investment.
But the Remodeling article admits that, while an important assessment tool, their list considers ‘only one kind of value that these projects can provide.’ Homeowner satisfaction is a key component to consider when you’re planning a renovation. After all, you want renovation projects that make you happy, not just future homebuyers- which is why Vision Remodeling is so focused on fulfilling your vision for your home.

I’ve settled on a project. Will I need to move out of my house during remodeling?
As you can imagine, we get this question a lot. And as you can guess, that depends largely on what kind of remodel/repair Vision Remodeling is doing for your home. Bigger projects can get messy and noisy (taking out walks/taking up floors/building additions). However, many of our clients choose to stay in their home during remodels or repairs, particularly if the project is centered in a specific area of the home (kitchen/bathroom/garage/exteriors) that can be worked around or where the construction mess can be separated from your living space.
However, if we’re undertaking a more major, extensive project that affects multiple areas of your home, it may be more practical for you to temporarily relocate outside the home. Our Vision Remodeling team will discuss this with you prior to scheduling your project, so you can plan accordingly. And of course, we will work closely with you to make sure your life is disrupted as little as possible as we work to make your vision a reality.
