Insulate the Walls and Roof
- Apply weatherstripping around windows and doors to prevent drafts.
- Install thermal curtains or blinds to reduce heat loss and block excessive heat.
- Upgrade to double or triple pane windows if possible for better insulation.
Insulate the Walls and Roof
- Add insulation to walls using fiberglass batts, foam board, or blown-in insulation.
- Install foam board or spray foam insulation in the roof between the rafters.
- Use reflective insulation on the roof to reflect heat away from the sunroom.
Insulate the Floor
- Install underfloor insulation using fiberglass batts or rigid foam board if the sunroom is above a crawl space or basement.
- Use insulating mats or carpets on the floor for an extra layer of insulation.
Seal Gaps and Consider HVAC Options
- Apply caulk and spray foam insulation to seal gaps and cracks around windows, doors, and other openings.
- Extend your home’s HVAC system into the sunroom or use portable heaters and air conditioning units to maintain a comfortable temperature.
